Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Ali has performed throughout North American as a member of the DancEast Young Company. While completing an Honours BFA at York University, Ali was a member of the York Dance Ensemble Since graduating, she has performed with Homelands Dance Company (U.K.), The Uptown Girls, for choreographers Calla LaChance, Veronique MacKenzie, and Tracey Norman, and as an independent artist. Her choreography has been staged at York University, the Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists, Series 808, Dances for a Small Stage, Artists' Play, Le Festival de danse en l'atlantique, Kinetic Studio's Grafton Series and in A Box Social Collision, which she co-produced. Her most recent creative projects have included a collaborative process with dance artist Jacinte Armstrong, an on-going duet with Tracey Norman, and a site-specific work with musicians Craig Buckley and Ruth Minnikin.
Recently, Ali has discovered improv. She has since performed with Made to Measure at Club SAW, The Bytown Tavern, and The Elephant and Castle, and has been a guest player with Insensitivity Training.
Ali would like to thank the cast and crew for the opportunity to try out this acting thing, her roommate for feeding her, and her bike for making sure she arrives most places only 5-10 minutes late.
